LOLS R&D is centered on lasers and optics and their integration in systems to be used in space, astrophysics, biomedicine, defense, security or industry.

Optical systems are typically metrology enablers: they measure target parameters (physical or geometric) and static or dynamic system configurations, and may rely upon position and attitude dynamics, especially in the space field.
